What is a .PIGQ file?
A .PIGQ file is a type of file known as an Indigo Queue File, which is used by the software programs Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT. These programs are designed to create highly realistic images and are often used by professional artists and designers, particularly for creating 3D renderings of buildings or imaginary scenes.
The .PIGQ file itself is essentially a compressed package, similar to a .ZIP file. Inside this package, there is a queue of one or more scenes saved in the Indigo Queue (.IGQ) format. This queue tells the software how to process and render each scene, including the order of rendering and specific settings for each scene. These settings can include the paths where the scene files and output files should be saved, as well as instructions on when to stop rendering, known as halt settings.
To open a .PIGQ file, you will need to use either Indigo Renderer or Indigo RT, both of which are developed by Glare Technologies. Indigo Renderer is a more comprehensive tool with a broader set of features and can be used as a standalone application or as a plugin for other 3D CAD software. Indigo RT, on the other hand, is a lighter, less expensive option with fewer features.
Creating a .PIGQ file involves using the Render Queue feature within Indigo Renderer or Indigo RT. You can access this feature from the Render Settings panel by selecting "Render Queue" from a dropdown menu. In the Render Queue, you can add scenes to be rendered, specify the necessary settings for each scene, and then save the entire queue as a .PIGQ file by choosing "Packed Indigo Queue" as the file type. This file can then be shared with other users of Indigo software or saved for future rendering tasks.
