What is a .M4U file?
The .M4U file extension is used for a type of file known as an MPEG-4 Playlist. This file does not store video files itself. Instead, it contains a list of links to MPEG-4 movies and video clips that are stored elsewhere. This is similar to how an .M3U file works, which is used to store playlists for MP3 audio files.
To open a .M4U file, you will need a video player program that supports this format. Most general video player software should be able to handle .M4U files, allowing you to load the playlist and play the linked MPEG-4 videos directly from the application. Simply open the video player, and then open the .M4U file through the player's menu to start watching the videos listed in the playlist.
