What is a .IRCP file?
An .IRCP file is a type of file known as a SpeedGrade IRIDAS Composite File. It is created using Adobe SpeedGrade, which is a software application designed for color grading in video production. This means that the software helps adjust the colors in video clips to enhance their appearance or to convey a certain mood. For example, using blue tones can make a scene appear cold, while red and orange tones can give it a warm feel.
The .IRCP file includes a project with a timeline of video clips. Each clip in the timeline has specific color settings and masks applied to it. These settings and masks are used to adjust the color and look of each video clip individually.
Although Adobe SpeedGrade has been discontinued, you can still open .IRCP files with any version of Adobe SpeedGrade that you might already have installed. Additionally, because .IRCP files are XML-based, you can also open them with any text editor to view the raw data. However, editing them in a text editor won't allow you to see the color effects—you would only be able to modify the code or text.
To save a project as an .IRCP file in SpeedGrade, you would typically use the "Save SpeedGrade Project" icon, which is located in the toolbar at the upper-left corner of the workspace. Once the project is saved as an .IRCP file, you can close it and reopen it later to continue editing.
It's important to note that since Adobe SpeedGrade is no longer being updated, you might need to look for alternative color grading software if you require new features or updates in the future.
