What is a .IQP file?
An .IQP file is a type of file specifically used for storing quilt patterns. These files are designed to be used with a system called IntelliQuilter, which is an accessory for long-arm and mid-arm quilting machines. The purpose of the IntelliQuilter system is to automate the quilting process, making it easier and more efficient.
The .IQP file contains all the necessary information for a specific quilt pattern. Once you have an .IQP file, you need to transfer it to the IntelliQuilter system to use it. This is typically done by placing the .IQP file on a USB flash drive, then moving the file into the patterns directory of the drive. After that, you can insert the USB flash drive into the IntelliQuilter tablet.
On the IntelliQuilter tablet, you can open the .IQP file through the software provided with the system. The main programs used to open and manage .IQP files on the IntelliQuilter system are IntelliQView and The StiQ. These programs allow you to view, edit, and ultimately use the quilt pattern for your quilting projects.
It's important to note that .IQP files are saved in a proprietary format, which means they can only be opened and used within the IntelliQuilter system. Other software or quilting systems will not be able to open or use these files due to their specialized format.
