What is a .IDPK file?
An .IDPK file is a special type of file made by Adobe InDesign, which is a program used for creating things like magazines, flyers, and other printed or digital publications. This .IDPK file is like a package that holds everything from an InDesign project that you want to use on a website. It's designed to work with another program called Adobe GoLive, which helps turn the InDesign content into something that can be put on the internet.
When you create an .IDPK file in Adobe InDesign, you can choose to include the whole project or just parts of it. This is helpful if you only need certain pieces for your website. After making this file, you would then open it in Adobe GoLive to change the InDesign content into web-friendly content, like web pages.
However, it's important to know that Adobe GoLive isn't available anymore. Adobe decided to stop making it and instead suggests people use Adobe Dreamweaver, which is another tool for creating websites. Because of this change, not many people use .IDPK files now.
If you have an .IDPK file, you can open it using Adobe InDesign 2023. This is the program that originally made the file, so it's the best way to access and work with the content inside. Even though Adobe GoLive is no longer around, Adobe InDesign can still handle these files.
