What is a .IBP file?
An .IBP file is a special kind of computer file that works with a program called IsoBuster, made by Smart Projects. IsoBuster is a tool that helps you look at and recover data from different types of storage media like CDs, DVDs, and hard drives. The .IBP file itself doesn't contain the actual data or files you might want to recover or view. Instead, it holds details about the disk image that IsoBuster is managing. Think of it as a table of contents or an index that tells IsoBuster where to find the pieces of the disk image it needs.
This .IBP file is always found with one or more .IBQ files. These .IBQ files have the same name as the .IBP file because they are closely connected. The .IBQ files are the ones that actually store the disk image data—the files and folders you might want to recover or explore. The .IBP file keeps track of these .IBQ files and helps IsoBuster understand how they fit together to form the complete disk image.
To open an .IBP file, you need to use the IsoBuster program from Smart Projects. When you open an .IBP file in IsoBuster, the program reads the information in the .IBP file to locate and organize the data stored in the associated .IBQ files. This allows you to see the contents of the disk image as if you were looking at the original disk, making it possible to recover files or explore the data on the disk image.
