What is a .FLKA file?

A .FLKA file is a type of secure file created by a program called Folder Lock. This program is designed to help people protect their important or private files by putting them into something called a "locker." Think of a locker like a safe where you can store your digital files to keep them away from prying eyes. The .FLKA file is like a locked safe that can only be opened with a special password that the user creates.

This particular type of locker file, the .FLKA, is a portable version, which means it can be moved and used on different computers easily. It's like being able to carry your safe around with you, but in a digital form. The files inside this digital safe are encrypted, which means they are scrambled up in a way that makes them unreadable to anyone who doesn't have the password.

The .FLKA files are formatted using something called FAT32, which is a way of organizing the data on the drive. However, there's a limit to how big the files inside can be, which is up to 4GB. This is quite large and should be enough for most needs, but it's something to keep in mind.

One of the cool features of Folder Lock, the program that creates .FLKA files, is that it allows you to back up your locked files online. This means you can keep a copy of your safe in the cloud, so even if something happens to your computer, you can still access your files. You can also put your .FLKA files on things like USB drives or even burn them onto CDs or DVDs if you need a physical copy.

To open a .FLKA file, you will need to use the Folder Lock program from NewSoftwares. This is the only program that can unlock the safe and give you access to your files, as long as you remember the password you set.

It's also worth mentioning that Folder Lock has another type of locker file called .FLKB, which doesn't have the same 4GB size limit as .FLKA files. However, these .FLKB files can't be backed up online like .FLKA files can. Both the .FLKA and .FLKB file types were introduced in Folder Lock version 7, so if you're using an older version of the software, you might see lockers with a .FLK extension instead.
