What is a .ESCAPE file?
The .ESCAPE file is a type of save file used by a video game called Prison Architect. In this game, players get to design and manage their own high-security prisons. The .ESCAPE file specifically saves your progress when you are playing in a special mode of the game known as Escape Mode. In Escape Mode, instead of managing the prison, you play as a prisoner who is trying to escape from the prison. This file keeps track of how far you have gotten in your escape attempt, including how many other prisoners are in your group trying to escape with you, and how many guards or other characters you have encountered or had conflicts with during your escape.
To open a .ESCAPE file, you need to have the Prison Architect game installed on your computer. This game is made by a company called Introversion Software. Once you have the game installed, it automatically knows how to open and use these .ESCAPE files to load your saved game progress in Escape Mode. Escape Mode was added to Prison Architect as a new way to play the game on October 6th, 2015, with the release of version 1 of the game. It allows players to experience the game from a completely different perspective, as they try to outsmart the prison's security and escape, rather than trying to keep the prisoners inside. This mode can be played on prisons designed by the player themselves, or on prisons designed by other players and shared through the Steam Workshop, which is a platform for sharing user-generated content.
