Instead, it saves your project as an .HTML file and also creates a folder that contains this HTML file along with the .AN project file and additional files like .CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and .JS (JavaScript) that are necessary for the animation to work properly on a webpage. Before Adobe Edge Animate, there was Adobe Edge, which used the .EDGE file extension for its project files. However, with the introduction of Edge Animate, the .AN extension became the default for project files, although the .EDGE extension can still be used interchangeably with the ".an" extension.
